These are some of my favorites. The doll in the center of row one is the first one I ever made. It is actually a tea cozy. All the dolls on row one were designed bt Phyllis Dunstin of Saratoga, CA. The doll on the far right of row one was made from an old-fashioned potato smasher. The dolls in the second row are some dolls that I made with a Halloween theme. The blonde witch was designed by Bonnie Hoover of Hayward, CA, but was a little old lady in the original concept. I made her into a witch! I dyed and homespun her hair using a drop spindle. The smaller doll is a Raggedy Anne with a "Witchy" smile. In row three, the first doll with the painted face, arms and legs appears to be wood, but is really stained cloth. The middle doll was designed with a smart suit, but the doll and the suit are the same. The Betsy Ross doll was the result of a class with Nancy Young of Cupertino, CA. She taught at The Granary, formerly in Vallco Village. The miniature Raggedy Ann in the last row was designed by Barbara Willis of Mountain View, CA. As you can see, she is quite small and her hair is a ravelled red sweater. The very last doll, the Irishman, is my design and won a blue ribbon at the Santa Clara County Fair in 1980.
